Ingredients

laundry detergent
250 grams Borax powder (find in laundry isle of SM)
250 grams washing soda (lectric) (find in laundry isle of SM)
1 piece (bar) of pre velvet soap (in soap section of SM)


Preparation

1.

cut velvet soap into large chunks and place in thermomix. Mix speed 10 for 10 seconds. Add Borax and washing soda and mix speed 4 at 5 seconds. Store in dry container or jar. May clump a bit after a while, so shake it up regularly or whiz it back up in your thermomix if needed. For use like any other detergent soap in your washing machine.

So glad to see this. I make my own soap to make my own laundry soap, and I'm glad to see it can be ground up in the thermomix! You made my day! I add bicarb soda to mine, in your recipe I'd add about 500g of it, not sure why, that was the recipe I was given Smile it bulks it up and only a little goes a long way!!!

great recipe and works well - I use Sunlight soap - main thing is that it is pure soap. Any recipes around for liquid washing up detergent?

velvet soap is available with the body soaps in both coles and woolworths. Its clearly labelled as VELVET pure soap.
