    Quick,easy and yummy!

I always read through the comments for variations. I also omitted the water and honey. I used a tin of tomatoes and used 3 large mejool dates (66g). I'll add a couple dates next time. I added a sprinkle of chilli flakes, which I'll increase next time, with a good dash of salt. Not a huge fan of chickpeas so I'll do half a tin next time too.

I finished mine in the slow cooker after cooking for the 12 mins and added capsicum. The lamb was very tender. Left the honey out as recommended and forgot to omit the water even though I used tin of tomatoes and was still great. Will be making again, was so easy and very tasty.

This was easy to make and delicious. I replaced all spices with 3 tsp of Ras el hanout, swapped water and tomatoes for a tin of diced tomatoes and reduced tomato paste to 30 grams (all I had). Left out the honey and used 60 grams of dates. Yum

    Submitted by AJH85 on 31. May 2017 - 19:09.

    Great lamb dish.
I didnt add the water, used canned diced tomatoes, added splash of red wine & used 10g honey, 5 dates. Mine was not super sweet.

whole lime cuts out the super sweetness.

cook the meat for 10mins, 90 temp, spoon mode.

Too sweet, used medjool dates, and didn't add the honey. My husband enjoyed it. I think I have to accept I am not a sweet savoury person.

    Submitted by Blara on 24. February 2015 - 00:26.

    Easy, tasty meal.

I left out the water and honey however I didn't have any dates so it ended up with none of the sweet stuff!

Next time I would probably add a bit of chilli and salt. We had it with rice but would go well with cous cous too.

This has become a firm favourite for my family. The kids wolf it down with cous cous. Like previous posters I skip the honey and use tinned tomatoes, omitting water, and find the sauce to be just the right consistency.

Made this - was nice, however I read the previous comments and omitted the honey and found it still quite sweet, think I will use less dates next time.  Lamb was a little tough, not sure if its the meat I bought or that it needs to be cooked longer at a lower temp? - will make again with a few alterations. tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by France on 15. July 2014 - 16:16.

Loved it, so quick to prepare. I put it in the Thermoserver while I made some rice and steamed some frozen green beans and broccoli in the varoma while the rice was cooking!

I think I will cook a bit longer next time.

I used tinned tomatoes and omited the water, didn't have chick peas so I used butter beans and it was delicious. Didn't have lime juice, apple cider vinegar was used instead. I also didn't use the stock concentrate as I am all out (*gasp!*). Loved it, will make it again, thanks so much for sharing this recipe!!!

    Submitted by JosieG on 2. June 2014 - 20:24.

This was sooooo good. Great flavour. I used a tin of diced tomatoes but I think next time I will omit the 200g of water altogether which will make it a little thicker & less watery. Added about 600g of lamb fillet which was cooked perfectly. Otherwise I followed instructions exactly. I will DEFINITLEY make this again. Served with a combo of Quinoa & Rice & a dollop of Thermo Tzatziki.  Kids loved this. So did hubby & he is the hardest person to please. Thanks for sharing. A keeper in my fav's.
