Agrodolce Beetroot

  • 400 grams Beetroot, peeled, halved
  • 1 Orange, large
  • 20 grams extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 heaped teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Chilli Flakes, or to taste
  • 70 grams brown sugar
  • 20 grams balsamic vinegar

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Peel zest from orange.  Put into TM bowl and grate 10 seconds / speed 8.  Set aside.

    2. Juice orange and set aside with the grated zest.

    3. Add beetroot to bowl, chop 3 seconds / speed 5-6.  Scrape sides of bowl with spatula.

    4. Add olive oil, salt, chilli flakes and sugar.  Cook 15 minutes / Varoma / Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting.

    5. Add reserved zest and juice, and balsamic.  Cook another 15 minutes / Varoma / Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting.

Tip

After the 30 minutes cooking time is up, check the beetroot - you can keep cooking it further if desired... Just do a few minutes at a time until it's the way you like it! tmrc_emoticons.)
