Tip

You can make your own tahini using sesame seeds & a little sesame oil as per vegetarian cookbook recipe.

Mill your own spices to make it even tastier.

For a smoother dip add a couple of ice cubes with all the remaining ingredients.

I found the tahini to be too overpowering for my liking (maybe my scales were being funny?). I ended up adding more garlic, another can of chickpeas plus some of the canned liquid. I toasted some diced garlic to sprinkle on top with some chilli flakes.

Does anyone know how to make the hummus smooth?  Do I need to add more oil or should I soak my own chick peas rather than tinned?
