I did 500g plum flesh, 350g raw sugar and half a lime to help set. Did extra 10 mins on Veroma as plums were quite ripe. Perfect!

I was gifted some homegrown blood plums and followed your recipe with a tweak or two. I used 870 gms in the TM5 bowl, 500g of the CSR jam sugar (which I could have cut back a little, as I didn't know how sweet it would be) and cooked it on varoma for 20 minutes. I checked it after that and thought I'd do 10 minutes more on 105 degrees and dropped in some whole star anise for a flavour pop. The reverse mode was also used so that it didn't go too smooth. My hubby gives it the lick of approval! Thank you for this quick user friendly recipe.

Great jam recipe, but runny, so i added 2 teaspoons of Agar Agar after cooking, and wizz for a few seconds, pour into hot jars, sterilised in the dishwasher. Sets in jars really firm, but easy to spread.

I was given some spray free plums so made up a batch using this recipe. I cooked a good 10 mins longer at 100deg. I think I should have put it up to Veroma. Just seems a little on the thin side for my liking. But still tastes yummy. I will use this recipe again but tweek it a little.
Thanks for sharing your recipe and for all the comments. I find the information very helpful. Smile

    FABULOUS PLUM JAM

I Have made this jam over and over again as all my family and friends want a jar.
I have just made another three batches for myself to see me through the winter.

    Thanks to all the comments,
I only add 300gms of white sugar as I did one batch with raw sugar and I couldn’t get it to thicken.
I also give it an extra 10 minutes on Varoma.

Thanks Angela for a fabulous no fuss, no fail recipe👌😀

I always read the tips first & for this recipe I didn’t! I used a little less sugar and cooked as per stated. The jam didn’t set so well but still ok to use on toast and steamed jam puddings. Never been a jam maker in the past but I love these quick easy recipes with my TMX👌🏻

    Submitted by ViolinCuddles on 28. January 2013 - 15:12.

This is a fantastic recipe - so quick and simple! I used jam sugar and a batch of not too sweet plums and got what I would call a good setting jam within the time frame.

The only downside was I barely had time to sterilise the jam jars!
