Tip
Can be doubled. Double quantities & increse cooking time to 12 minutes.
Use Beef or Chicken Stock if using Beef or Chicken.
Can personalise your gravy by adding any of the following:
Red Wine / Mustard / Worchestershire Sauce / Cooked Onions / Mushrooms etc.
When I created this recipe I had used my Slow Cooker to cook a piece of Beef Topside and added: onion wedges, bay leaf, 1 tbs Stock, Garlic clove, Balsamic Vinegar, 1 cup water. I used this left over liquid for the gravy including the onion which was combined into the gravy and the kids didn't notice the difference!!

My go to gravy, I use it all the time. It's so versatile.
For a Greek-style roast, I add lemon juice, rosemary, thyme and oregano.
Otherwise, I always add Worstershire sauce and sometimes wine and paprika for added flavour.
If too thick, just add some water and mix for 10 sec sp 4. Thanks for sharing such a fabulous recipe.

This is the yummest gravy. I had to make it gluten free so just substituted the plain flour with plain gluten free flour and it was fine. You wouldn’t know the difference.

I've made this with many different roasts, and the only one that turned out thin was Venison (which was probably too lean to make a decent gravy!)

Thank you! I have never been able to make 'real' gravy on the stove. This was so simple and tasty, I won't ever attempt the tovetop method (or Gravox) again!
I halved the recipe, and hardly had any pan juices, so threw a roasted garlic clove and a roasted onion in to add some flavour, and the result was very tasty indeed! I wouldn't change a thing.
Thanks for a great recipe.

Great gravy. Easy to cook
Great gravy. Easy to cook while meat rests. Doesn't matter how much pan juices are left I don't think but the pan juices do make it a nice rich flavour. I made with arrowroot flour the first time and it was perfect. Second time I used corn flour but not enough so the gravy was not thick enough and I ended up with all my corn flour on the bottom of my bowl for some reason so I need to perfect this one.
So Yummy and Easy!!

"Closed lid" Tried this tonight...was v nice and my oldest loved it. I used chicken stock paste and made up the meat juices with water, as I only had about 180g of meat juices. Did end up adding about another 150-200g water in the end and just a teeny bit of gravy powder. Delicious, thanks!

Great recipe! I only had 150g of pan juices, but even with quartering the recipe and reducing the cooking time to around 4 mins it still worked out great! Was a tad salty, but when eaten with roast meat and veggies it was fantastic! So easy! I knew when to stop cooking as you could hear it had thickened by the noise Thermie changed to. Thanks

Hi Like2Cook. The quantity of
Hi Like2Cook.
The quantity of pan juices leftover depends on how you cook your meat as well. We reguarly use this gravy recipe for all sorts of cooking: webber roasts (juices collected in drip tray), slow cooker, for both pan frying & oven roasting you can scrape the bottom of you pan or roasting dish or tray to include any bits of meat & vegetable scraps left behind for added flavour.
Since finding out that fat is not unhealthy I don't bother skimming fat off unless there is a lot as too much fat quantity doesnt make gravy well. We keep leftover gravy to pour over the dog biscuits for a puppy treat!!
