Love this sauce, I always cook it for 12 minutes to develop the flavours and thicken it a bit more, then blend on sp7 for 5 sec as we like it with smaller chunks. Thanks for such an easy and delicious recipe Smile

Submitted by Simone Rodgers on 11. July 2016 - 20:03.

Great pizza sauce. A half batch did 2 pizzas perfectly.

I used home grown tomatoes that I had previously cooked and frozen so they were a little more watery than canned tomatoes. Just a bit longer cook time thickened it nicely.

This sauce is perfect! I tried it for the first time last night and I couldn't help sneaking a few spoonfuls before the dough was ready to go. The taste and consistency of this sauce are spot on. I'll never buy pizza sauce pre-made again!

The only pizza sauce use now! Makes plenty to store extra in the freezer for the next time we make pizza. I like to whizz it for a few seconds on speed 5-6 to make it a little smoother.

This is delicious. I must make some more to store in the freezer. I used thermy tomato paste in the recipe. I used it on pizza's, made a mince beef risotto with it (thermy of course!), and also cheese and bacon scrolls.

  • I think it's absurd to buy

    Submitted by Gizmonet on 30. September 2015 - 15:21.

I think it's absurd to buy anything tinned, especially tomatoes and paste when we own a Thermomix. I bought my Thermomix to cut out preservatives, fillers and everything artificial. I used 10 overripe tomatoes that were going cheap at my local fruit and vege store (One whole bag for $0.99) and tomato paste from the Thermomix EDC book that I freeze into ice cube trays to set.I also use fresh herbs since I always pick up the discounts packets going at Coles and Woolies. The sauce tastes amazing!
