Tip
These are just like commercial hash browns and are so simple and quick to make.
Great for young kids and they can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.

My hubby and I really enjoyed these. I made them free form so we're not to thick. My hubby does not like the cafe hash browns, he says they are too thick but he really enjoyed these. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for posting.

I made these tonight to have with steak. I subbed half the potato weight for sweet potato and only had egg whites on hand. Turned out beautifully and the kids and hubby loved them (always a bonus!)

These are great. We don't eat
These are great. We don't eat eggs and they work fine with chia seed eggs (1 tbsp chia seed + 2-3 tbsp warm water, sit for 5 mins and it forms a gel)

Love these. So easy. I don't peel the potatoes and add half an onion or shallot. For extra flavour. This is a regular in our house hold.

Worked perfectly, couldnt fault the process. I may try and add a shallot or two next time for a different flavour but thats not a cristism of the recipe.
Made a double batch of these
Made a double batch of these tonight to accompany salmon. A very easy recipe and they taste like commercial ones. I didn't peel the potatoes and used a nut bag to squeeze the extra liquid out. Far less messy than using the steaming basket. I also cooked them free form on the Weber, so I did them in one go. Little man loves hash browns so these are on the to do again list
Super yum and super
Super yum and super easy....
I didn't bother peeling the spuds (extra goodness) and found these to be a quick, healthy lunch snack for my kids. I did some in rings and some free form and both ways were easy peasy

chopped some garlic and rosemary first and held aside as I wasn't sure if the kids would like the flavour.... Kids preferred plain but big kids like the extra flavour. Didn't have egg rings, cooked fine just spooned into pan. Great recipe

I just made it using rice flour and adding a couple of spring onions. It's good. I don't use the egg rings. I am happy with the irregular shape.

Found these a bit heavy as the centre didn't cook through properly. Unsure if I made them too thick (about 1cm) though. Might be that the potatoes I used weren't suitable for the recipe too.
