For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- 1. Add onion, garlic and butter to thermomix bowl. cook 3 minutes 120 deg speed 1
- 2. Add curry powder, pumpkin and carrot 15 seconds speed 7
- scrape sides
- Add milk, stock, water and cook 20 mins 100 deg speed 1
- Add cream, salt and pepper. blend 1 min speed 5 then gradually increase to speed 9
