Mud Cake

  • 200 grams white chocolate
  • 250 grams Butter
  • 450 grams brown sugar
  • 2 cups --- water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 100 grams Self Raising Flour
  • 300 grams plain flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Golden syrup or Maple Syrup

Recipe's preparation

    For 1 qty- 22cm round
  1. 1. Place white chocolate, butter, brown sugar, vanilla essence, golden syrup and water into TM bowl, set temperature to 50oC/ speed 2 for 2 minutes or until chocolate has melted.

    2. Add self raising flour, plain flour, eggs. Blend on speed 4 for 1 minute or until combined.

    3. Pour mixture into a paper lined round 22cm tin.

    4. Bake at 130oC for 1 1/2 hours or until skewer inserted in centre of cake comes out clean.

     5. Allow cake to cool and decorate as desired

Tip

Make your own caramel frosting using 

125g butter

200g brown sugar

80g milk

250g icing sugar

Place all ingredients into the TM bowl for 4 mins, 80oC, speed 2 or until butter is fully melted, Spread onto cold cake

    It's a dreadful recipe ... same your time and money, find another one.
    Outer millimeter of cake cooked, inside just kind of set like rubber. I knew the mixture looked wrong when I was pouring it into the tin.
    Icing took hours to become thick enough to put on cake and was very grainy.

    I cooked mine for an extra 15mins until the skewer came out clean. When cut, the inside of the cake was dense like a pudding. The icing made triple the amount needed and was very runny.

  • Mixture- both cake and icing

    Mixture- both cake and icing ended up runny consistency. Cake did take longer than 1 1/2 hrs to cook but turned out OK. Good taste and would make again for special occasions.

    I couldn't get this cake to work for me.

    not sure what I did wrong, but the mixture was fairly runny and needed to be cooked longer Then didn't look like the picture.

    the cake looks like it would be great, but didn't work for me
