Hi, I have just purchased mine, (ordered last night) I have now had two plays with the thermomix and spent alot of time doing research and asking questions..

I think like every mechanical item you could run into issues, but i feel with the thermo there is so much support and advice you will always have support!

I think also if you are using your TM correctly then you should not run into issues.

I would suggest seeing if your friends with one can let you have a play with their ones. Its what I did, I then noted what I didnt like and researched and found my answers and thats led to me feeling confident in my decision to buy one...

Its a big purchase so I would reccomend lots of research.

Good Luck! :)

Hi - are you talking about the person who got burnt?  I have the previous model and a new one.  Love them both and there's no way I would sell either of them!

I think that the seal in the older model is something that needs to be kept an eye on.  As you would a seal in anything.  Because the thermie can process hot food at such hot speeds it is especially important to keep a spare on hand.

LOVE my thermies!
