My thermomix does the same thing, it leaks through the bottom. Do I need a new seal?

Same problem for me - making caramelised vinegar yesterday which I've done dozens of times. The contents all leaked out through the bottom. What a mess!! Thought it might be the seal needed replacing, but Annie Waugh says she's tried that and it's still happening. Wouls appreciate some advice please.

Hi there,

im starting to have this problem now too. I replaced the seal on the blades thinking that was the problem, but then I made pumpkin soup tonight and found a puddle underneath the mixing bowl when I took it out. I’m not sure if the problem is with the blades or the bowl.

Hi: I was having this problem - I called the Thermomix help line and spoke to a very helpful person in WA (Jacqui I think) and she said because my blades were pretty new (and the seal was in very good condition) it was probably the base of the jug as they wear out over time - especially if you put it in the dishwasher. So I purchased a new base which was really tight when it arrived (I actually thought it must be the worng size) but it did fit and now I don't have the problem any more. I no longer wash the base in the dishwasher either. Hope this helps!

Hi I've had my TM31 since 2016 and it has started dripping water from the bottom of the jug. Sometimes I get e52 (ie liquid has run down into the base) but mostly I just notice it when I remove the jug as the liquid leaks out on to the floor or bench. Help!

Hi,
My Thermomix has also started to leak from the bottom. Doesn't appear to be doing it whilst it's doing its thing, but when I remove it and leave it sitting for a few minutes it noticeably has liquid dripping through. Fortunately it was only being used for a Smoothie at the time but I am particularly concerned that it may do this when I have hot ingredients in it.
Please help.

Hi Annem

Yes - Thermomix contacted me and had the problem resolved. We had to get new blades but it may be different for you... You are best to have a chat with them and see what it is all about.

Hi,
I've just experienced leaking from the bottom as well. I made a batch of rice and after I turned off the machine water just leaked out all over my kitchen bench. The rice was cooked and it didn't occur whilst the machine was on. (It's a TM31)

Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have had my TM31 for 4 years now and its now leaking water from the bottom of the jug right though to underneath the machine. The machine squeaks while its turning and misses - so not smooth running.

There doesn't seem to be any damage to the bottom of the jug..
