Tip

It doesn't matter which type of sugar you use. I use brown, but that's my favourite!
Salt is also not a necessity. But helps with the flavour intensity!
Best stored in a jar, not a bottle, as it's quite thick!
The brand of cocoa is also not a biggie. I use Homebrand, just because of the amount the recipe calls for. Makes the beautiful dark sauce in the picture.
Warm what you need and store the rest in the fridge.
The uses are endless! We use in hot/cold milk drinks, 'mudshakes' (for the adults), ice cream topping, cake icing (like a woolies mudcake topping), finger bun topping, sandwich spread for a treat for the kids. These are what I've used it for so far!
Enjoy!!!! (Guilt free just cause you know there's no preservatives! 😉)

    Absolutely divine!

My Thermy struggled because I failed to get the butter out to get it to room temp, but it got there in the end.

Just a couple of tips for others: 1. The type of cocoa you use does matter. Using good quality cocoa in large amounts will make this sauce more bitter and then you need to add more sugar so it’s cheaper to reduce the cocoa quantity and maintain the amount of sugar. 2. Get your butter to room temp before starting the recipe.

Does NOT taste like McDonald's fudge sauce as other comments say. I only made this recipe because of those comments, so that's disappointing.

Other than that, it isn't too bad. Tastes strongly of cocoa-powder, but could be nice in baking and drinks.

    Delicious!

Such an easy recipe with amazing results. I didn't let the leftovers on the jug go to waste and made my son a milkshake.

It makes a lot, stores perfectly in the fridge. A spoonful in a ramekin for 25 seconds in the microwave and it is the perfect strawberry dipping sauce.

    Thank you.

This is sooooo delicious! I totally didn't think about the fact that it would go firm in the fridge so I stored it in old passata bottles. Next time I'll store it in smaller jars so it's easier to scoop out. I will never not have this in the fridge lol
