  • 120 g Fresh Baby Spinach
  • 1 carrot, (cut into pieces)
  • 40 g leek, (green tips only, cut into pieces)
  • 400 g canned tomatoes
  • 100 g tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 500 g lean beef mince
  • 15 g olive oil
  • 300 g pasta, dry, (gluten free)
  • 60 g cheese, colby, (or cheddar, parmesan)

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add cheese to the mixing bowl. Grate 10 seconds / speed 10. Transfer to small bowl and set aside. Rinse and dry mixing bowl.
  2. Add carrot, leek and baby spinach to the mixing bowl. Chop 5 seconds / speed 9.
  3. Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl with the spatula.
  4. Add oil to the mixing bowl. Cook 3 minutes / 100°C / speed 2 without measuring cup.
  5. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, thyme and basil to the mixing bowl.
  6. Insert simmering basket into mixing bowl, weigh mince into it and cook 12 minutes / varoma / speed 2.
  7. Stir mince with spatula to break up and ensure even cooking, then cook for a further 12 minutes / varoma / speed 2.
  8. Transfer mince and sauce into thermoserver or large bowl and stir to combine. Cover to keep warm.
  9. Clean and dry mixing bowl. Add water to mixing bowl and bring ot the boil using kettle mode.
  10. Add salt (optional) and dried pasta through the hole in mixing bowl lid and cook *time indicated on packet* / 100°C / Counter-clockwise operation / speed 1 without the measuring cup.
  11. Drain pasta through simmering basket and serve with bolognese and top with parmesan.
