Beef stroganoff yummy and uncomplicated

  • 2 brown onion
  • 50 grams Butter
  • 10 grams oil
  • 1000- 1200 grams stewing beef, Blade steak, oyster blade, gravy beef, chuck steak fat trimmed cut into 3cm cubes
  • 3 level tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 level tsp salt
  • 1 level teaspoons white sugar
  • 3 level tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cube Beef stock cubes
  • 1 portion liquid beef stock, 250mls
  • 1 package sour cream, Small tub
  • 375 grams dried fettuccine pasta, Egg fettucine
  • 1 cans mushrooms in butter sauce, Edgell brand is best from Woolies and Coles

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Peel garlic cloves and quarter onions, place in bowl, chop speed 5 for 3 seconds.

    2. Add butter and oil and cook for 5 minutes veroma speed 1 Counter-clockwise operationscraping down sides half way through.

    3. Add beef and cook for 5 minutes veroma speed 1 Counter-clockwise operation

    4. Add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, beef stock cubes, beef stock, salt and sugar and a good grind of black pepper

    5. Place lid on with measuring cup off, cook for 60 mins 100deg Counter-clockwise operation speed Gentle stir setting

    6. Check beef is tender, if not cook for another 15 mins. Once tender, add can of mushrooms in butter sauce. Note: if you do not like mushrooms, blend the mushrooms up and add as a liquid.

    7. Add sour cream tub and mix through for 2 minutes 100 deg Counter-clockwise operation speed 1.

    8. Cook fettucine as per packet instructions and serve.

Tip

Leaving the measuring cup off will ensure a richer sauce.

    Absolutely loved this dish! I didn't use sugar, and used fresh mushrooms instead plus a bit of cornflour to thicken slightly. I usually add dry sherry to my strong but forgot so will try that next time and some paprika. But overall it was a huge hit!

    I use this recipe all the time for stroganoff but I expected from the beginning you forgot to add paprika into your list of ingredients. I always add 1 tablespoon
