      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Measure 500ml of water into bowl

    Place simmering basket into bowl and measure 250g florets (or your choice of vegetable), into simmering basket

    Set time to 7 minutes; Veroma; speed 2

    Remove basket with TM spatula and dunk blanced vegetables into cold water to stop the cooking process and drain.

    Pat as dry as possible, put into container/bag and place in the freezer to use whenever you want to.

Tip

I found that doing batches of 250g was easier to manage.

If doing a 2nd batch turn the time down as the water will already be heated.

I popped 100g of lentils into my water and used to make creamy curry lentils.
