I'm making this recipe for tea, and I can't see peas and corn in the ingredients, but they're mentioned in the method. (5min before thermie finishes cooking). How much should I put in? Ta

Whoever invented this was a genius! We all love it in this household. I only use 250g of coke - just one of the skinny cans does the trick. I've never added the paprika just because it's not something I ever have in the house. Great winter food!

Great tasty recipe thanks! I added beef stock instead of chicken and not quite the full 500g coke and still tasted awesome, goes fantastic with mash potato. I was not sure how much peas and corn to add so I just added 1 can mixed peas and corn. Also added a bit of corn flour to thicken up a bit. tmrc_emoticons.-) Will definitely make this again!

  • Really delicious 10/10 only

    Submitted by PaulieW on 4. April 2016 - 14:55.

Really delicious 10/10 only problem was too much liquid next time will cut coke back to 250 g. Tasted even nicer the next day when flavours had matured.

Probably not the most healthy recipe but nice once in a while.

This was a hit with everyone in my family. Not overly sweet, very tasty. Tasted even better for leftovers the next day. Kids want it again for dinner.

  • My children love this recipe

    Submitted by Bree M on 5. August 2014 - 20:52.

My children love this recipe and it is really delicious. It is pretty versatile, you can add in as many or as little vegetables as you like. You can serve it with mashed potato, pasta, dumplings, or serve as a soup with bread. Don't be put off by the coke, it is not sickly sweet. The coke gives it more of a caramelised unique flavour. I don't thicken mine at the end (see tip section), we like it a bit sloshy so the mashed potato can soak up some of the sauce.

You can also add some chilli or some cayenne pepper in step 4 if you want a bit more of a bite to it.
