Tip

Feel free to change up the vege depending on what you have in the fridge/freezer, or prefer...

You can slightly increase the vegetable or mince component to suit your family, if you wish...

You could add in some curry powder for a curried savoury mince...

... or even taco seasoning to make a mexican inspired savoury mince!

We have a family of 6 - to stretch the meal we serve with rice, pasta, jacket potatoes or cornchips etc. Top with mash potato & cheese & you have an awesome cottage pie! Let me know how you serve yours!

Thanks Lailah, the mince didn't turn to mush as you promised. We seasoned well with salt and pepper because we are all adults. I would also in future add a bit of chilli to give it some zing. Nice and hearty in the cold and nice and cheap to make.

What an absolute winner Lailah. 4 clean bowls in our house.

I accidentally used about 1kg of vegetables so I blitzed for a bit longer and did the initial sautee for a few minutes longer.

It worked perfectly. I served it with brown rice that I cooked first and left in the thermoserver to keep warm.

This was absolutely delicious!!! We doubled the mince, sauces and cornflour and it JUST fit! Also added 1 tablespoon of curry powder, but I'd add 2 next time as the curry flavour wasn't noticeable. Still an absolutely delicious base recipe. Thanks for sharing Lailah 😊

Loved this! I was worried when one of the comments said it was a bit bland, but it was just perfect for my taste tmrc_emoticons.) I served it over a zucchini I had baked, and my son had it with rice. He usually wont eat anything saucy, wont even eat bologanise but he loved this. Will make again!

Super easy receipe and made a HEAP! I found it a little bit bland so added in some BBQ Sauce and some extra tomato paste. I think I didn't use enough vege stock paste so will try that next time and see if that ups its taste. Best part the kids smashed it and the 7month old ended up looking like an oompaloompa! This is definitely going into our rotation!

Great recipe, thank you. I added in 800g of mince with 800g veg and didn't use a blade cover. Used soft stir and still got a chunky mince. I also added sweet potato instead of white potato... loved by whole family and a great meal to get lots of veggies in. Will def make again
