      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Great recipe! I have a TM31, so did 900g apples off our tree and 50g sugar, 150 ml water, didn't add anything else. It was perfect and love that I didn't have to peel apples, thanks for sharing.

    Turned out GREAT .....
despite my numerous accidental attempts of sabotage. You know those days when you just can't seem to follow a recipe!
First I peeled them and then realised there was no need. Then I cooked the apples after milling on the WRONG speed and WITHOUT adding the other ingredients. I added the rest of the ingredients at the last 5mins stage of cooking. I only puréed on speed 5 at the end as 9 seemed too high for me. (I halved the recipe and used 2tb sugar and didn't add cloves).
The only change I would do next time, apart from following the recipe would be to reduce the cinnamon (I used 1/4 as halved the recipe but I think an eighth would have worked).

Whipped this up at the last minute after realising that we had no apple sauce. I only made a quarter of the recipe and put in a tablespoon of sugar. I didn't have any cloves, so used some nutmeg instead. Yummo and the family enjoyed!

This sauce is so much tastier than the bought stuff. I’m lucky to use 70g of sugar each time and it’s plenty sweet.

The second time I made this, I used a mix of red and green apples. If possible, it was even more tasty! 🍎🍏

    Delicious!

I've just made this to go with the xmas ham in a few days. It's absolutely awesome! I have a TM31 so I halved the recipe and did 2 batches.

    Highly recommended tmrc_emoticons.)

use 700g apples, 120g water, 75g sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder. I did no thave any all ground cloves so left it out. Used the same times above. Next time I will reduce the amount of sugar. Easy and will make this recipe again. Thank you for sharing.

  • Sugar not necessary...

    Sugar not necessary!

I used this recipe as a base - I had already peeled my apples, I put 1.5 Tablespoons of sugar, instead of 150gms (!!!!!!), and a quarter of a lemon, squeezed.
And it didn't even NEED the sugar I put in it.

  • Halved the recipe as I

    Submitted by pstritt on 23. July 2016 - 14:05.

Halved the recipe as I thought it may be too much, and it worked perfectly.  Same duraitons and everything.  A really great apple sauce that we will certainly use all the time from now on.

This is delicious and easy! Love that the peel is still on the apples. Barely lasted 2 days in our house. Thanks
