Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add all ingredients to Thermomix bowl.
  2. Blend 10 seconds, speed 7.
  3. Cook for 35 minutes, Varoma, speed 3. Place your splatter guard, or basket on top of lid, instead of MC - this will allow steam to escape as the liquid concentrates.
  4. If you'd like to further concentrate the pasatta, simply cook for an additional 5 minutes, Varoma, speed 3, & repeat until you're happy with the consistency.

If you have bulk tomatoes/vege to use up, you can follow step 1, then transfer to a large pot & repeat. Instead of cooking in your Thermomix, you can cook in one bulk lot on the stove until reduced.
