For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- ☆Quarter your brown onion and then add garlic and onion to the bowl
☆ Add 30g of extra virgin olive oil
☆ Chop for 5 seconds on speed 6
☆ scrape down the sides of your bowl
☆ sauté onion & garlic for 3 minutes/ 120°c / speed 1
☆ add remaining ingredients
☆ cook for 20 minutes / varoma temp/ speed 1.
☆ Take your MC off and replace with your simmering basket

Tip
If you want to double this recipe- double onions & garlic cloves and use 800grams of tomato soup and 800g of passta and extend your cooking time to 30 minutes.
