Recipe's preparation
Chocolate batter
1. Melt butter and sugar 2-3 minutes 100 degrees speed 4. Time depends on how cold butter is.
2. Add eggs and cocoa. Cook 3 mins 100 degrees speed 3. Remove from TM bowl into heat proof jug. Scrape well but do not clean.
3. Add 1 packet of biscuits to TM bowl. Crush 12 seconds speed 5. Remove from bowl and repeat with other packet.
4. Add all biscuits into TM bowl and pour over chocolate batter. (biscuits need to go on bottom to mix well). mix for 1 to 2 mins reverse speed 1. Use spatula to incorporate. When mixed well press into tray using the back of a tablespoon until very firm in tray. I finish with a rolling pin for a smoother surface.
Scrape bowl well but do not clean.
1. Add icing, cocoa and hot water to TM bowl. Mix/heat 1 minute 100 degrees speed 4.
Pour over base and smooth well.
Leave to set for 30 minutes and cut into 6 rows x 8 rows in the tin. If you leave to set too long it will be too hard to cut. Leave another hour or so to set hard in the tin.

Have made this 4 times now and have come up with an alternative I have used for the icing.
250grams milk or dark chocolate buttons
60 grams thickened cream
1. put items into thermy bowl.
2. Cook for 2 minutes at 50 degrees speed 3
3. spread over slice and allow to set in the fridge for 20 minutes
4. remove from fridge and cut into pieces while not fully firm with a knife dipped into hot water
5. Place back into fridge to fully set

My partner and kids love this! I don’t blitz the biscuits as much and sometimes I add walnuts. I find the icing can be a little hard to spread sometimes so I just add a little more water. 😃

Can also add 125gm of Pistachio once you have done the biscuit mix. The chocolate topping takes work to spread but with a soft spatular and pressing it down instead of spreading a traditional mix works like magic.

Amazing slice! One of the best I've made. So simple but tasting it you would never know!
Nice recipe. I didn't blitz
Nice recipe. I didn't blitz the biccies for so long, I prefer a bit chunkier for presentation when sliced. And I just melted some chocolate for the top instead of the icing (and sprinkled some crushed pistachios). Great recipe thanks!

Yummo! Not quite as good as my husband's but I can whizz this recipe up so quickly so it keeps the troops happy. I find the icing a bit thick so add more water. Must try it with a dark choc ganache topping next.

Oh the fudgey sauce before you add the biscuits... mmm mmm! Its currently setting in the fridge. Very easy. A couple of notes for myself next time I make it... Biscuits equal to 500gms, I didnt blitz my biccies for quite as long as I like them a little chunky. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing.
I one and a half timed the recipe, and combining it all was bit too much for my Thelma (the Thermomix), so I did it manually, which was fine. I added some vanilla extract to the egg mix to give it a bit of rich flavour.
I also sprinkled dessicated coconut on the top, as my Mum used to, and it is a huge success.
Great recipe, easy and so versitile.
Thanks Wendy. Have made them

I was looking for a way to use up a few packets of biscuits I had in the pantry from Xmas (thanks to the never-ending mountain of rum balls, etc!) and came across this recipe. Easy to make & nice with a coffee for afternoon tea. The kids will be having a slice in their lunchboxes tomorrow! I'm sure I'll be making this again - especially loved that I didn't have to clean the bowl between steps
Absolutely Perfect. Thanx
