  • 225 g Pitted Dates, dried
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
  • 60 g Butter, unsalted
  • 225 g Self Raising Flour
  • 165 g caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs

  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 115 g Butter, unsalted
  • 250ml thickened cream

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Muffins
  1. 1) preheat the oven to 180C (moderate) and prepare a 12 hole muffin tin

    2) place dates and water into TMX bowl; cook 100C 4 to 5 mins on speed 3 until boiled (if unsure it's boiled put it on another minute it's the soften the dates)

    3) add butter (60g) and bicarb soda, 60C 2 mins on speed 3 then scrape down sides. 

    4) add flour, sugar, vanilla and eggs (add eggs last or blitz first as they may cook otherwise!) 2 mins/speed 6 to blitz them. 

    5) put mixture in muffin tin and cook in the oven for c20minutes

  4. 1) clean TMX bowl after muffins

    2) add all ingredients and cook 100C about 5-6mins on speed 4. You want the mixture to boil and thicken. 

    Serve warm with the sauce. it is the BEST tasting sauce.

    Yes, I think it might be 1 cup of water as I googles the Delicious Magazine recipe.

    they have just come out of the oven and it looks like 1 cup of water was right.
