These were great. Although I actually went more by people's comments than the original recipe. I used 400gm gf self raising flour and 300gm yoghurt and then mixed it speed 6 for 20 secs. It was not crumbly at all. In fact it was actually a
little sticky so I just added a bit of extra flour when I rolled it out. Tasted so good.

  • I think I did something wrong

    Submitted by soulful on 25. July 2016 - 11:39.

I think I did something wrong because mine was way to crumble.  I didn't see the tip until it was too late.  I wanted to use it like focaccia, topped it with a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkle of sea salt.  I don't eat wheat so I can't comment on the flavour, however the children did enjoy the 'bread', they said it tasted more like a scones then bread dough. Also the instructions seemed incomplete with no oven temperature and cooking time.

  • YUM! I actually came across

    Submitted by rowadam@bigpond.com on 11. July 2016 - 19:49.

YUM! I actually came across this recipe looking for something to have with a camp oven dinner - so glad I made this. I blitzed some garlic and rosemary in the bowl and then made the dough (adding the extra yoghurt as suggested) - I rolled it out quite thick to a single family pizza size, topped with olive oil a little more garlic and rosemary and some finely grated parmesan. Afte cooking it was like a thick tasty damper bread.. everyone loved it! Cant wait to try it thinner as a pizza base. Thanks for a great recipe.

  • This was perfect! (Husband

    Submitted by Sybbysoo on 12. June 2016 - 19:36.

This was perfect! (Husband approved!) I used 400g Aldi Gluten Free Flour and approx 325g of Aldi Greek Style Yoghurt. I used speed 6 once for 4 seconds, but it was way too crumbly (I had made this recipe previously without a Thermie, and struggled with it being crumbly), so I put it on speed 6 for 20 seconds = perfect. It did not crumble at all.Rolled out beautifully, no need for cling wrap, I just put down some baking paper and rolled it on that. I pre baked the bases at 200c fan forced for 8 mins, then cooked them with the ingredients on for about 10 mins at 180c. was enough for 2 medium pizza bases. Made in TM5.

  • I had great success with this

Submitted by Chef Kez on 1. May 2016 - 10:59.

I had great success with this so thank you for sharing!

I only made a half quantity and used Jalna natural yoghurt instead of greek yoghurt as well as GF plain flour, and turned out fine,  Next time I will add a little salt though as it was a touch bland.

I did need to manually knead the crumble dough a little on my thermo-mat and then rolled out to a single pizza stone size using a rolling pin and greased baking paper.

When cooking I topped the base with sauce first and then par-baked for about 8mins in a really HOT oven - I believe this step was necessary as when toppings are placed on the pizza the pizza base doesn't seem to crisp up as easily and tastes a little "doughy".

I will definately be making this again!

    Submitted by fallondesmet on 9. September 2015 - 21:55.

I made this tonight using white wings gluten free self raising flour and greek yoghurt. Usually its a 1:1 switch in most recipes for the gluten free flour. But sadly in this recipe i had to add almost double the greek yoghurt (lucky i bought a big one). Followed the above and it was still like flour with a little moisture in it. Tipped into normal mixing bowl and mixed old school by hand.

  • What a great and easy pizza

    Submitted by jecarrick on 22. March 2015 - 19:36.

What a great and easy pizza base recipe.  I successfully made this with Chobani no fat Greek yoghurt and wholemeal SR flour.  I also halved the recipe and it made two medium sized pizzas enough for two people. I found I had to add an extra few tablespoons of yoghurt for it to become the right consistency.  I rolled my bases out to about 0.5cm, and they rose a little when cooked to make a lovely thin base that was crispy on the outside but soft inside, very tasty, thanks for a great recipe.

  • This dough was easy to make.

    Submitted by superquilter55 on 15. June 2014 - 22:38.

This dough was easy to make.  The only problem I had was it was difficult to roll out and you had to squash it together and with arthritic hands it was a little hard.

I then made a second lot and added more yoghurt (300g) and mixed herbs and it came together better. Will definitely make again.

    Submitted by mrsbobby on 1. May 2014 - 14:34.

So quick and easy.  Not sure how thick everyone else rolls it, but I only made one large pizza out of each set of ingredients above.  Even though it's a bit thicker (1cm or so) it is so soft you don't notice.  The men liked it!  I added a little crushed garlic and mixed herbs to add a bit more flavour.

    Submitted by Panoukla on 19. February 2014 - 18:28.

This recipe can be used to make the best Greek pita breads for souvlakia. Needs about 80g of yoghurt to every 100g of flour, half plain and half SR. Roll out to 1/2 to 1 cm thick and cook in an oiled pan medium heat a couple minutes on each side. A little salt to taste is good. Fill with sautéed meat hummus and salad, soo tasty for a quick meal. I haven't tried it as a pizza base but will be trying it soon. tmrc_emoticons.)
