Recipe's preparation

    • 1. Put sugar, milk and milk powder into mixing jug and stir, 5 sec/spd 6.
    • 2.Cook 90C/15 min/spd 3.
    • 3.Once that has finished, put the mix into your fridge (take the lid off) and turn on a timer for 50 minutes so you remember it's in there. If you don't have a second jug (how good would a second jug be) you can tip your mix into a clean bowl and put that into the fridge. Then you can use your mixing jug for something else.
    • 4.Once the 50 minutes is up, put your mix into your mixing jug (if it isn't already) and put this into your thermo machine. It will hopefully be at 37 degrees. You now need to wait for this temperature light to go OFF - this is important!
    • 5.As soon as the light goes off, add your starter and cook on 5 mins/37C/spd 3.
    • 6.Tip this mixture into a thermal bowl, or a well insulated bowl (or a thick glass bowl) with a lid. Wrap this in a thick blanket and sit somewhere undisturbed. You can leave for as long as 24hrs, but the longer you leave it the more tart it will taste.
    • 7.After your yoghurt is set you can now add your strawberry jam. Transfer into a container and store in the fridge for a week or so.

Tip

– In colder temps make sure you use a well insulated bowl, or thick bowl and wrap it in a good thick blanket or towel.– Use a good quality starter, one that is a reputable brand.– Leave it to set in a warm room for between 8 – 16 hours.  The longer you leave it the tarter it will get but in colder temps you will need to leave it for at least 12 hours (or sometimes more).
