I have just bought the new Cookidoo key and using it for second time and now getting the c160 error - lid not locking properly and can quickly see a message saying motor has stopped! I don’t use my thermo constantly, coincidence this has happened since buying the cookidoo key?. Haven’t come across any comments advising others with these issues has been rectified,!

Hi, I am also having problems with error c160. I have been cooking soup and after cooking soup and then trying to blend, c144 pops up, even though lid is all clear. I fix the lid and then c160 error comes up and my thermomix shuts down. Can you please help me. Thanks

Has anyone had any luck with having their TM5 error codes fixed Code 161 and machine shutting down , lid wont lock or the cost of getting repaired? Thanks


I am getting error 161, the machine keeps shutting down while following reciepe had a error message came up cant read the chip, also lid wont lock saying refit which i have done no difference any suggestions? Very frustrating TM5

Hi, Just noticed the recommendation to phone the service departemnt. I would like to know how the service works.

I have been quoted $66 an hour to repair a machine. However when I asked what a front panel cost I was told they are not allowed to say what the parts cost.

My experience is most contractors can give an estimate on parts. Any reason why such a basic request is hard to answer?

I have a similar problem. My TM is just over two years old. I first had an issue last year when I steamed a chicken in Varoma for an hour and then it kept wanting to turn off. After checking forum I let it cool and then could continue on cooking in short bursts until it overheated again.

Today I've been steaming chicken and it tells me the lid won't close. At first it did after letting it cool. But we went to use it again this evening from a cold start and we still get c144 saying the lid is not in position. It definitely is in position. It doesn't feel as tight fitting though as it usually it requires a little more pressure to push it into position for the arms to lock over.

As my warranty is now just recently run out I don't wish this to be an expensive repair.

I am also regularly getting the 160c error where it then quickly shuts down afterwards even though I am in the middle of cooking. What is the cause? Is it overheating? What can I do?

I am also getting error C160 on a regular basis This is extremely annoying when I am half way though cooking something for a dinner party. scoop it all out and finish off by conventional means. It is often accompanied by error C144. Sometimes without even touching the lid it will happily work after shutting down.

I would to know what is going on with the machine!

My machine is also showing this error when completing the beef rendang recipe. My operation was at slow speed but hit temperature  

 

And now error c144 that the kid can't close. I've never had this before unless it was an obvious misplacement. NOw it feels like the seal has expanded or something and it can't sit flat. 

 

In in the past I've also had the scales error appearing while I do high speed chopping - not when trying to measure but it just appears at random.

Hi,

i have posted previously with the same issue and had my mahine sent away in its original box and lots of packaging with it clearly marked as fragile and 'this way up' and to keep the box and all of its packaging as I was worried about its travels and had it returned in a smaller box with no packaging.  

To make matters worse, it came up with a completely different error code as soon as I turned it on and every time I do ever since, saying that the recipe chip is not an authorised Thermomix chip and I can't access the recipes.  

I absolutely do not want to send my Thermomix back again considering the last time how I received it, especially if it is just the chip it was returned with!

I have made do without it ever since, however now it is just frustrating.  

Please resolve.


I was making a new batch of the vegetable stock and we got to the point of blending the cooked product.  I would turn the dial to blend but it kept giving me a C160 message and would then turn itself off.  I tried several times before coming to the forum and seeing that others would have a similar issue when blending high temperature recipes.

I then let the stock cool down in the hope that this was the problem with the machine.  Now all I am getting is a C144 message.

So now I am sitting here watching a full batch of stock not completely finished,,,,,,,,,

Good morning,

I have not been using my thermomix for the last few months as I constantly get C160 error messages, it started happening at the end of last year. There have been times when I cannot finish a meal because it just keeps coming up with the error message and shutting off.

Can you please advise how I can go about getting this rectified.

I'm having the same problem. Seems to happen when foods with high liquid are cooked at high temp. Keep getting c160 error and shutdown. Won't comolars recipe. usually with soup tonight with butter chicken. Please help as this is extremely annoying from such an expensive machine. 

 


Ok mine tm5 is giving me an error code  c37. .lids have locked  food was still stuck in there. Only 8 months old abd not used that much..dissapointing. as i was showing it off to a friend..don't think she'll be rushing to get one..plus we have just started to get our autistic son eatjing this out of it and now he'll slip back to his old favourites and it was just scones was fine tyrned to knead abd code came up. Trued unpluggibg etc with no luck.

I get the C160 error whenever I try to blend soup using T5. How do I fix it/ get it serviced?


I've been having this same issue for the past 3 months, also. I bought my machine in Oz but I've since moved to NZ. How do I go about sorting it out?

I keep on getting error C160.  Why?  It stops me from cooking as the machine has to shut down.  Very ANNOYING

Without saying i will be contacted sometime, why does the thermo keepsmgiving me a 160 and a 144 error everytime.

This ismrather annoying especially  when you are in the middle of making something.

Can you get badk to me and tell me what to do?
