oh my gosh... I have just melted butter in the thrrmomix with out the blade in it! Was dealing with kids at dinner and did not realise it wasn't in .......I have looked at above comments and put it in the sun on its back and will leave to drain for 24 hrs. Have I wrecked my thermy??? Has anyone else don this? Melted butter for 2 mins at 100 degrees...
Argh! I fell victim to this today. My son had placed the bowl back in the night before with out the blades in it after wiping it up. I got up this morning and started to pour 1lt of water in it :(. Thank goodness my thermo lady had told me what to do when I had purchased mine. I placed it on a towel on its back and as there was no sun about I put it in front of a small fan heater. Yay 4 hours later it had worked
Yes - in a situation like this - do excatly as Cathy says,
i always make a point of telling my new customers that you must advise everyone in the house to never put the bowl on the base without the blades in position - not really a design issue - more just double checking,
Its also a good idea to let your consultant know when something like this happens - incase you have issues arise from the probelem down the track
Lay it on its back and place in a warm position for 24 hours. It should be fine.
Try and get in to the habit of never putting the bowl back on the base without the blade in and make sure everyone in the family is aware of this. Im sorry but I cannot see how that is a design error ? Dont worry though, it should be ok The Thermie is very tough
Thanks for replying. Some water must have gone into the motor part because a small amount was coming out the sides of the casing. I haven't dared to turn it on yet as i don't want to fry any electronics. Yes, it is so easy to do. If it wrecks the TM, it is really a major design fault don't you think? I knew it was something to watch out for and we've only had it two months and we've done it! Just combination of two people undloading the dishwasher and the bowl wasn't assembled properly before it was put into the thermomix. If anybody else can help I'd much appreciate it.
that's so easy to do. I haven't done it with water, but did with golden syrup when making Anzacs. It was a sticky mess, but cleaned up OK. Is your house fitted with a safety switch? If so, the worse you could do is trip the switch. I think it should be OK as the rubber flange over the motor should keep the water out, but it would pay to be careful. Good luck.

Hello Serismit
Lay the Thermomix down in the sun on its back there are drain holes that will allow any liquid to drain out.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Has anybody ever put liquid into their Thermomix without the blade? What do I do? Is it safe to turn on?
