      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 150°C

  2. Line a deep dish baking tray with baking paper or thermomat and spread out even layer of popped popcorn taking care to ensure any unpopped kernals are removed. Set aside

  3. Add butter, sugar, glucose syrup and 1 teaspoon of salt to TM and melt together for 5 mins/100°/Counter-clockwise operationspeed 1

  4. scrape sides of TM bowl and heat for further 5 mins/Varoma/speedGentle stir setting

  5. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and stir through well.

  6. Sprinkle with salt and bake for 30 min, removing and stirring every 10 minutes to ensure evenly spread.

  7. Sprinkle again with salt (to taste) and stir through well before spreading popcorn over a lined surface/benchtop to cool. Whilst cooling, carefully break apart any large popcorn clusters.

  8. Enjoy!

Awesome recipe! Tastes just like Lolly Gobble Bliss Bombs (if anyone remembers those) I only added a small amount of salt to the caramel and didn’t add any more once cooked. The family raves about it and baking it in the oven ensures that it’s not sticky once cooled.

  • This recipe is excellent!  I

This recipe is excellent!  I have made it many times, after air popping popcorn in the microwave 3 1/2 minutes on high, covered.  Last night I was busy and my husband asked me how and popped the corn then weighed the ingredients for the thermie (he still doesn't want to know how to operate it) and he poured over the caramel before baking it.  It is simply so easy and delicious, a wonderful snack for the family, thank you tmrc_emoticons.)

  • I have made this twice and it

    Submitted by abondigirl on 9. May 2016 - 12:43.

I have made this twice and it is amazing.  I placed 3/4 cup upoppoed corn into a large glass bowl covered with greaseproof paper 3 minutes on high.  Removed popped corn and cooked remainder for another 1 minute.  I placed 100g butter, 95grams brown sugar and 100 grams liuquid glucose in thermie for 5 minutes speed 1 100C.   Then poured this over popcorn in large non stick baking paper lined tray, mixed together and cooked for 30 minutes 150 C turning every 10 minutes.  Sensational, stored at room temperature lasts 2 days (none left after that time.)
