Red Hot Chilli Prawn Cakes

12 portion(s)

Prawn Mix

  • 250 g Raw peeled prawns (deveined)
  • Coriander leaves (fresh), to taste
  • qtr teaspoon Cumin seeds (whole)
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 Egg (raw)
  • 2 spring onions, cut into 3
  • 6 Snow peas (whole)
  • 2 Garlic cloves, peeled (whole)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, for frying
  • 3 Chillies (small), add more if you like it 'hot'

Recipe's preparation

    Prawn Mix
  1. Place garlic, chillies and whole cumin seeds in TM bowl and chop 5 seconds on speed 7. Add spring onions, snow peas and coriander to bowl and press turbo twice. Add prawns, egg, fish sauce and turbo a couple of times to blend prawn meat, making a chunky consistency (not too mashed).

Form into small patties (tspn size) and place in fridge for 10-15mins.

Preheat frypan and add oil. Shallow fry prawn cakes until golden brown.

Serve with TM steamed rice and garnish with coriander leaves, whole chillies and lemon wedges. Diced cucumber, sweet chilli sauce and/or soy sauce make lovely side dishes to this delicious dish.
