If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip

This is a very runny chocolate cake, so should pour easily straight into the cake tins.   For cupcakes I find it easier to put into a jug to pour into the cupcake holders.

It is a very rich cake, so is delicious with just a flake crumbled over the top, but we tend to decorate with butter cream icing or ganache for the kids' birthday parties.

I used to make with handheld beaters, and even then it was extremely easy.  The thermomix now means that I can mix it up within seconds, instead of beating for 5 mins!

I only added 300g sugar and 50g of cocoa. It was divine! I was worried because it was so runny when it was mixed but it turned out amazing!

  • I made this twice this

    Submitted by twoshoes on 10. May 2015 - 18:39.

I made this twice this weekend - once for my daughter's birthday cake, and again as cupcakes for her to take to school for her birthday. I used butter instead of oil and just melted it in tmx before adding everything else. Super easy, moist and delicious!

  • Love this one of my favourite

Love this one of my favourite chocolate cakes. I made them into muffins as a treat for the kids lunch box. They love these, went down a treat. Very moist & rich flavour of chocolate. I bake these for 30 minutes for cupcakes but i made the bigger cupcakes version. Will have to whip up another batch tonight.
