For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- Insert butterfly whisk
- Add the flour
- Add the water. Making sure it doesn't go past the max fill line.
- 2 minutes speed 3
- Batter is ready to use. For best results let it sit for 30 minutes before use.

Tip
I use this batter in my take away shop. Using self raising flour make the batter puff up when fried in oil. If you want a thinner batter just use plain flour
