Bocker19 i have never had any probs with what you have heard ??

I am loving mine and am just a begginer.. Its all about learning to use it properly. My only mistake is i forget to press the Counterclock button at times but have always corrected it within seconds. and since the speed is low, it doesn't even affect the food.

I have experienced several of the things you have mentioned and they can all be attributed to user error. As Thermomix Newbie expect to have a few failures but don't let this put you off. Start with the easy recipes and work your way up with practice. Once you've got the hang of it you will never look back. It does take some getting used to and if there are some cooking classes near you take full advantage of them. Have fun, laugh and learn from your failures.

I just want to add since writing my post I've received a message from head office and had my consultant ring, text and email. A new MC has been ordered for me so great service as well!

hi i must say i love my new thermomix. i think its a great luxury product but very expensive for what it does. I dont really think it saves me that much time as i was a pretty efficient cook before but maybe i am not quite used to it yet - its only been a few weeks. I would recomend it for young families just starting out for sure. Its terrific for smoothies, batters and i did steamed fish and rice the other day which turned out amazing. It does require pretty efficient cleaning immediately after use to keep it in top condition.

Thankyou so very much for posting some great things about the Thermomix. I figure no matter what I buy something can go wrong with it. As long as I can get things replaced easy enough and I care for my machine the best I can then everything should be ok. I'm super excited so I know I'll learn how to use it right! I've booked in for a cooking class to make sure I get a good head start!!

I use mine all the time. It is great. I haven't bought a loaf of bread since owning it and eat proper breakfasts in the morning (i never used to eat breakfast). The food I eat is so much healthier and I have lost weight since owning it.

i did have a problem with my MC lid it was starting to crack. I just called their head office and they replaced it for me no questions asked. My sister also had a problem with her spatula after putting it in the dishwasher. She called head office and replaced it immediately... Their after sales service is amazing.

my consultant has called me several times asking if I still love it or if I have any questions. It has been a great investment for me. I got one after my mum recommended it to me.

hope this helps

I still love it after a year. I use it just about every day for something. Sometimes I don't want a combined meal (I must admit I haven't got into the steaming yet) but on these days I still use it for mash potato, rice or for brekky. I find we are eating much healthier as the kids always have vegetables in everything and the breakfasts can last a few mornings. My kids love semolina or quinoa porridge and the most important thing for me is time. I have time to do this in the morning and at night I put it on and then have quality kid time. I also use it to make bulk things for the kids to freeze like soup, chicken nuggets and it's made the making of other things that use to take me an hour or longer so much quicker - spring rolls, vegetable sausage rolls and gyozas (the cutting of all the veggies, etc). My friends tell me I should start selling them I love it so much.

The negatives: the measuring cup has cracked and it is time I replaced it as it's just holding together. This was partly my fault as it happened in the early days when I was experimenting with speed and we have tiles so it bounced out and cracked; we got a little sick of the combined meals so I had to balance it a little better and I should start using the steamer; it can be difficult to get inbetween the blades to clean and sometimes marks are really hard to remove so it needs a really good scrub but for me this is just the same as other tools I use in the kitchen and I usually need a lot more of them.

I hope you enjoy your thermo as much as I do.

I've just ordered my Thermomix after hosting and it's still yet to arrive. Interested to hear what others say.

I think the reality is that nothing is prefect and yes there may be problems or there may not be but a machine with such rave reviews, the good would certainly outweigh the bad.

It's a special machine and I think it's important to learn how to use it, keep getting help off your consultant and attend classes as well as access information online. Like any new appliance or recipe I think it will take time to learn how to adjust to it.

the machine has a 2 year warranty so if any things happens a lot will be covered and I have heard thermomix are still very good at replacing of fixing things even after that time. I'm sure others will come on and have different opinions on this.

I've been reading the same things, doing lots of other reasearch, I can justify the cost and I'm still really excited to be getting it.

Hi All

I do not own a Thermomix yet but I have been to a demo, I'm about to host one and then I'd like to order!

However, after reading this forum I'm so worried that I'm going to hate the Thermomix and have nothing but problems with it?

Is that the case?

I was really hoping that it would make my life so much easier, help me to help my children eat healthier and give me more freedom in the evenings instead of being stuck in the kitchen for hours.

Lids crack, blades dont come out, scales dont work, machine doesn't stay still, hot liquid boils over, food is mushy, blades rust, chunks of food not processed properly ........ is this really what happens? Because the demo I went to was amazing and I didn't see one of these things happen.

I heard amazing things about the Thermomix prior to reading this forum and part of me wishes I'd never read it so I could still think I'm getting the best thing ever!

Can I please hear some great things so I can at least make a more informed decision? I really want to get one ... I'm dreaming about this machine honestly!

Thankyou x

Kind Regards
