Forum Steaming Veg for a large family
Hi Anajam81, are you using the full three layers of steaming. It's important to layer the vegetables in order of how long they will take to cook. For example, potatoes should go in the basket, carrot and sweet potarto in the bottom tray and then pumpkin, broccoli, cauil in the top. This is a good recipe to follow http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/side-dishes-recipes/mash-potato-and-steamed-veg/75157
Hey guys
I totally LOVE my Thermie BUT I have yet been successful in mastering steaming all my veg for my family, We are a family of 8 and I would LOVE to be able to chuck all the veg in the Thermie but everytime I try I am either not doing it for long enough for the amount I am cooking or on the right temp. My consultant told me how she does hers but she is a family of 3 and that's way off what I am cooking for. Any suggestions on how long, what temp? We normally have Potatoes, sweet potato, pumpkin, peas, corn, carrot, broc and cauli. Sometime we will have Corn cobs but not often cause my bub cries if he can't have that also lol..
