I am having the same problem..Error C160...It did it twice yesterday, but I managed to restart after 2 shutdowns..This afternoon I was making Rosella Jam..I could not complete the last step..I tried to no avail, 6 times....Please help

Over the past week I've cooked 2 dishes - a stew and a soup - and both times just before the last step the thermomix has shut down with the error C160. I haven't been able to re-start it. Does this mean it will have to be sent away to be repaired?

Not a happy person today. My machine has been displaying the C160 error AGAIN. This is not the first time my machine has done this. Delivered to me after much waiting in Oct 2014. First C160 error appeared not long after and it was returned and repaired. The arms are the problem apparently. Got it back and was pleased to be Thermomixing again. Approximately April/May 2015 the recipe chip failed and it was replaced. Well today whilst cooking silverside in the varoma ( same dish as first C160 problem) I've had the error displayed. Australia day tomorrow so no chance of speaking with some one till Wednesday. So all in all not pleased and more than a little disappointed and disallusioned.
If you are experiencing repeated problems with your Thermomix, you can request a replacement machine. You do need to give Thermomix the opportunity to rectify the error. In my situation, my new TM5 experienced several errors within first few months of ownership. I sought advice from the consumer affairs / fair trading department. Each state government in Australia will have this type of department. These websites have very useful information about how to resolve complaints.
I have had my replacement machine for several months now, and it's so far worked perfectly. I received the machine after several 'repairs' at the service centre, plus a registered letter to the company's customer service manager. I was in the process of lodging a claim through the Queensland fair trading department, but was contacted by Thermomix offering a replacement. I am very thankful that this was offered. Additonally, the consultant that sold me the original faulty machine returned to install the new machine - great service.
It's unfortunate that the same errors I experienced almost a year ago are still occuring to some Thermomix owners. It makes it difficult for Thermomix owners to advocate for the product when it's so difficult to have problems resolved simply like you would have if it was purchased through any of the major department stores or retailers. Something for Thermomix in Australia to work on!

My Thermie is back to normal after a short trip to get is serviced and checked (free of charge)
