Can we ask what recipe were you following so we can get feedback from the Recipe Development kitchen here in Australia? The previous responses on this forum were from 2015 so we'll try and get you more recent information.

Hi, i have had my machine now for a wk.. im having the same problem. I made the butter chicken and used chicken breast instead of thighs. I did have to cook it for a bit longer because the first 20 mins was not enough looked and tasted no where near ready.. so i added another 15 mins to it. Chicken was shredded and looked like baby food. The meal tasted very boring. I followed the recipe so dont understand? No depth to the meal at all.

Gina, Ive had this issue too. I like my meat in chunks not baby food. Its the one turn off I have for cooking in the TM. 2016 Im going to get it right or I may as well sell it.

Chicken shredding can be caused by a variety of reasons such as the type of chicken you are using, the amount of time the chicken has been cooking and the size cubes you cut your chicken into. If you prefer your chicken chunkier, we recommend dicing your chicken into 5-6 cm pieces.

I decided to make a chicken stroganoff tonight using the beef stroganoff recipe in the Everyday Cooking Cookbook. Even following the recipe and setting it on reverse, speed 1, the chicken came out schredded. I also made a pork recipe recently and the same thing happened and now I think their is a problem with my Thermomix when on the reverse setting. Has anyone had the same problem?
