I've just made this cake and the same thing happened. So I used a long spatula to stir the oily mixture from the bottom into the carrot & walnut mix by hand, then gave it another 15 seconds on reverse and also mixed it a little more with the spatula as I scraped it into the cake tin. It seems to have worked, although I can't be sure until I try some - it's still baking (smells delicious).
I'd be interested to hear how others have dealt with this?

Hi, I struggle getting the ingredients mixed 
it says in the recipe "add the chopped walnuts and carrots and mix on reverse speed 2 for 15sec" it's not getting anywhere.... Do I just increase speed and time on reverse? I don't want to chop carrots more, so I guess the reverse setting is good. Thanks for your help!! Katja
