Forum Baby food
I want to make a vegetable stock that I can use in my babies food. The concentrate in the EDCB has too much salt in it. However I think I can make that without the salt and then freeze to preserve itl. Has anyone tried that?
Can any one help me out with a recipe for baby custard for 6mth old.
Has tried the egg custard from heinz and had no issues, but would prefer to use thermi.
Did you find any recipe? If I were you I would go for an organic formula until your baby is old enough to eat solid food and then gradually introduce fruits and other foods. Just use the thermomix to smash them until your baby is old enough to chew them.
Just wondering if you had tried the baby rusk recipe? I had a bit of trouble with it. It wasn't sticking together very well which made it very difficult to roll. I added a little extra formula milk, which helped a little, but they are very messy when used as they fall apart. Any suggestions on improving next time?
Thanks very much - will try it out soon!
You could just omit the eggs and add some extra flour to the recipe in the EDC.
From 9 months (unless there is a known egg allergy) you can make the recipe in the EDC with just egg yolks as well, use 2 yolks to replace one egg. I often make egg yolk only custard.
Thanks for the tips - I made the babys first meal today just with vegies and she loved it!
Another question though - does anyone know how to make egg-free custard? The shop-bought stuff seems very sugary but baby really likes the custard with her fruit.
In the back of the everyday cookbook (the one you will get with your thermomix) you will find a recipe for baby's first meal.
I got my thermomix when my baby was 4 1/2 months old. I rarely make him something special just for him, he normally shares with us. He has soups, and risotto's and mashed potato regularly. If I when he was smaller I had cooked something for us that was a bit too chinky and needed too much chewing for him I would just leave some in the bottom of the bowl when I dished up and blitz it on speed 4 or 5 to make it to a consistency he could eat. Speed 9 tended to make a mess.
When I had my first I used to just cook up big batches of veggies and then puree them, that would be much easier in thermomix. I think there is a recipe for carrots and something else in the cookbook, when I have done it for DS I used that method and which ever veggies I had in the fridge.
Hi, I am getting my new thermomix this week, and am looking forward to being able to make some baby food in it - I have a 7 month old baby girl. But I can't seem to find any baby food recipes on the recipe forum. Am I looking in the wrong place? Any ideas where I can find some baby recipes for the thermomix?
