My thermo is showing error 38 I have turned it off pulled plug out and still shows error 38 what do I do can someone help me

Hello,
I have a TM 31 and was cooking a Skinnymixers curry when my thermo wouldn't work and just beep saying er.38. I turned off and on, took cord out etc and nothing helped. I was nearly in tears! Finished cooking it on the stove. Have just been looking to see what the errors mean and how to fix and I came across turning it off, pulling plug out, turning lid to closed and then open lid again. The error then read er.32 instead of er.38.
I don't know what to do. What is the problem? Has anyone else experienced this? I am in Adelaide and am not sure if there is anyone here who fixes them. I am also very nervous as to how much it is going to cost as nothing to do with Thermomixers are cheap! 
I love my Deloris (that is what I called her!) and don't want to be without her.
If anyone has some advice, suggestions etc I would be so grateful.
