My blades are no longer spinning with the spindle ... is there a fix or does it require replacement?

My blade attachment has broken off at the base and no longer spin. I sent an email a while ago to see if there was anything that Thermomix could do but I havent heard anything from you this is poor service from thermomix I just wish someone had contacted me so I wouldnt have to resort to forums to get an answer


Did anyone find a resolution to this problem? It's happening to mine and I am on my second set of blades in less than 5 years. I've ordered a new base hoping that it will solve the issue.

Our TM has stopped spinning properly, it is spinning at low speed and not blending contents properly. On Speed 1 the blades barely turn. Hoping we can resolve this soon as my daughter lives on vegan smoothies!

Just picked up my new blades $112 and informed they are only warranteed for 6 months an by the way you will need to replace your seal every 2 years
This was not mentioned at the sales pitch.... I do hope these last longer than This!!!!

Our TM31 has just started doing the same thing as many others here - blades seem to turn independently of base so unable to exert pressure in ingredients in the bowl. Can they be tightened or do they need replacing? What were the outcomes for others who have posted here? Devastated to not be able to use my TM!!! Aw

Hi guys ....love my thermie but it let me down....the blades have stopped moving but the motor is running ok. When you take it out of the bowl they turn almost too loosely ( then I remember) but won't work when it's turned on. The spindle turns but not the blade. No error message showing
what do I do?

I have had the same issue with my blades. I was making a green smoothie this morning and the blades stopped spinning after about three seconds but the motor was running. Any advice appreciated.

Hi - my blades have stopped spinning too. We pretty much only use the Thermomix for soft things like porridge, pancake batter, mashed potato and smoothies...so not sure why this has happened?

Hello, my blades have suddenly stopped turning. I have cleaned it out, pulled it apart then put back together but it only works with nothing in it. I have used a friends blades and the machine works fine so I know it's the blades. Her blade is different to mine though,  mine has like a plastic bit on the bottom? I have Tried to post a picture but couldn't. It is out of warrenty, do I just need to purchase a new blade or is this a fault? Her machine was purchased around the same time as mine so I'm not sure why her blade is slightly different.

Hello,

I have a TM5 which I have only had for just under 1 year, and my blades top spinning this morning.  I did the whole removed clean but back to gether - they seam to spin when nothing is in the bowl but as soon as you add anything they don't spin, but the motor is still going.   Please help.

Hello, I have a TM5 and noticed something wasnt quite right when I made my last lot of baby food / risotto and last night noticed the blades won't spin if there is any weight in the bowl but the motor still runs like it is. If I take the food out of the bowl it will spin but not with as much effort as it used to??? Any idea what's wrong??

I am having exactly the same problem. Blades not going round but the mechanism it's moving - really odd! Have had my machine for 3.5 years. Noticed last night when I was making pumpkin soup that it wasn't grinding up the pumpkin in the usual wonderful way. Does this mean we just have to replace blade at $120 a pop whenever this happens?

Hi, I am also having this problem. Blades won't move if more than just water in the bowl. I've had my TM31 about 3yrs. It seems like the blades are not fixed to the blade shaft anymore.  Aw

I think I have the same problem.  you can see the small round nob spinning but the blades don't spin.

i've taken it apart and put the blades back again to check, but still not working.

I have had my thermomix for a couple of years now. This morning it was getting a bit of a workout after making banana and choc chip muffins and banana and coconut bread. I went to start making date and banana muffins, however, when I put the dates in to chop, the blades stopped spinning. No error message. I could still hear the motor spinning but the blades weren't doing anything. I emptied the bowl, disassembled, cleaned, reassembled and then let it run without any food in the bowl, but when I added the mix back the blades stopped spinning. It was like the blades were getting stuck. Needless to say the date and banana muffins had to be completed in the mix master. Do you have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? I was hoping to make chicken kievs for dinner but I don't like my chances....

Hi there my thermoix is doing the same thing, even when I blend it with a large amount of water it still won't blend the other ingredients? The motor appears to be moving but the blades don't seem to be  moving at the regular pace and they don't even move when blending more solid foods. Please help!

Hello All,

We love our TM and use it daily for smoothies and to grind wheat to make bread. Haven't really cooked properly as I have yet to attend a demo but plan to host one shortly. We're experiencing a problem with the blades not turning despite the mechanism moving. I'm guessing something has come loose and have taken the blade apart but no joy so far. Any help would be appreciated, thanks,
