I usually reheat food in my Miele combi Steam oven and it works very well. Basically you just set a temperature and amount of moisture. Today I decided to try that idea in the Thermomix. I had leftover pasta and I also wanted to steam some dim sims. I lined the Varoma basket and tray with glad paper and put the pasta on the tray and the dim sims in the lower section of the Varoma. I put hot water in the bowl so as to speed up the process. I set the temperature at 110 C for 20 minutes as I know frozen dim sims take 20 minutes to steam. Everything worked perfectly and it was so easy. I can see it working well for rice or anything that needs a little extra water to reheat. Microwaving often dries thing and using steam is much better. I don't know if people generally do this but to me it was a new idea.
