Hi,

I have attempted at few different cakes from the EDC. Chocolate, Lemon, Orange. They never seem to rise properly. Once I cut the cake, there is always a layer of something along the bottom. I'm not sure what it is. Any advice or help would be much appreciated, it's really frustrating. Thank you.

 


I'm really not sure what is going wrong, but when I use the TMX to make cakes, I still make them the traditional way.

I cream the butter and sugar on speed 4 until light and then add eggs one at a time. The last egg is added with any liquid and flour. Then, I use the dough function to incorporate the flours and sometime help with the spatula.

Are you sure you're using sefl-raising flour? Maybe after 3 cakes it's a sign... stop cooking cakes! (I'm kidding!). Let me know if you figure it out x
