Forum help with vegetable chopping
The vegies in the picture have been diced with a knife so you wont ever get square pieces from the Thermomix. For the largest "chunky" chop i use speed 4 or 41/2 no higher, for 3 seconds then check for size. Once you go too far you cant go back :(( . You then need to make Soup Also make sure you dont over fill your bowl. You need room for the vegetables to rotate around the bowl. Try just half filling the bowl and do smalll lots, after all it only takes 3 seconds. Yes you could try Raeburn's advice about smaller pieces too. GOOD LUCK
I am using pretty big pieces... so I will give smaller ones a try.
Thanks!!
Any other suggestions?
I found chopping tricky too when I first started using my TM. I'd maybe make sure your starting pieces (especially capsicum) were in smaller chunks, like half a credit card sized, rather than big pieces. I chop my veggies at speed 5 for only a second or two and then check how it's going. I never follow recipe directions for chopping times anymore otherwise many things end up turning to mush. Perhaps others start with bigger pieces? Not sure, but good luck!
I'd ike to chop up veges to put into pasta sauces (typically capsicum) .
Every time I try I either get it too finely chopped or the pieces are too big and very uneven.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to speeds and times?
I'd like to get my veges to be like this: http://thesimpleveganista.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/chopped-vegetable-salad-with-garlic.html
Thanks!
