To steam in the Varoma, you need to use Varoma temperature. If you wish to cook potatoes in basket while steaming veges in Varoma, you can, but you would not be able to follow the mashed potato recipe in EDC. Just steam potatoes first then mash afterwards.

Hi all 
new thermomix owner here!!
I was making mashed potato last night in the thermomix following the recipe in the everyday cookbook. (So temp 100) and decided to use the varoma to steam some other vegies. But the other vegies took ages, I had to finish them in the microwave. I know at this point it's a little trial and error but I was wondering if anyone has any hints or tips for this??
