I wish I had of been at your house for Christmas Cathy!  We had no air conditioning on the day and lots of roasting to do.  So I par-steamed all my veggies in the Varoma before roasting them in the BBQ while the beans steamed in the Varoma on top of my gravy.  Glazed ham, roast turkey, roast potatoes, roast pumpkin, cauliflower cheese, green beens and gravy never tasted better!  Mince pies with salted caramel ice-cream were also a great hit! Hi Paula,

The Festive Cookbook will be out next year! In the meantime search for 'Christmas' on the Recipe Community search function to find more Christmas recipes.

Thermomix Head Office

I realise it is now 2011, However do you still have any of those festive season cook books.  I would love to buy one I have only had my thermomix a few months and am really loving it.  The Christmas pudding from this year's calendar is no in my varoma and steaming away. Smile

I'm making some chocolate hazelnut filled brioche, and also Christmas wreath breads... we'll probably have that for breakfast Christmas morning, with some scrambled or poached eggs.  I'm going to make Helene's slow baked spare ribs for lunch (http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2010/6182/how-to-slow-cook-ribs-recipe.html), not sure what else... Still working out all the Christmas cooking - making it up as I go along!  Bigsmile

Just chowing down on a piece I made yesterday - Mmmmmmm divine!

I highly recommend it.

Jo, they look gorgeous!

We're having a seafood BBQ for lunch, so I'll be making some yummy lime mayo to go with prawn skewers.

I'll also be making a vanilla sauce for the Chocolate Figgy Pudding that my sister is making. She makes it in her Vacola outfit and it's absolutely sublime. It could easily be made in the varoma, or the basket for that matter. I just need to convert it to make a smaller amount. Will get on to that shortly.

I made the little steamed puddings from the Festive cookbook last year and they were nice - but very rich!!!  I cooked them in little ceramic ramekins, but if you have the little silicon cupcake cups you could use them, and cook more at a time (and they'd be quicker).  Here's a photo from last year's puddings:

I might try the steamed pudding in the calendar this time - sounds good.  Smile

I have some spare Festive Flavour cookbooks If you want one - there's a recipe for "little steamed christmas puds" in it. I haven't had a chance to make anything from it yet although I did have a go tonight at modifying a shortbread recipe to be vegan & gluten free - If they pass the taste test with everyone tomorrow I'll post the recipe.  I'm sure it wont be long before lots of yummy Christmas posts arrive.  Smile

You are what you eat - so eat beautiful food Smile

That sounds perfect for me.  I don't have a conventional oven - bought established house,  the oven didn't work properly and we haven't gotten around to getting it replaced.  Cooking with the Thermmoix as much as possible is ideal for me.

Watching with interest too Wink I missed out on the Festive Flavour cookbook as they have all sold out. I'm keen to try some Christmas pudding recipes and the like in my new toy.
