I make it in a ring tin so it does come out higher. Still not a huge cake, but if you want to slice it open and put a filling in it, it's quite a respectable height by cake standards. I find a cake cooked in a ring tin is easier to cut also.

mine has never risen in my three failed attemptts so hopefullyy someone can help

My second attempt at the too easy chocolate cake, this time I used a 20cm pan instead of 24 and it is still really flat. It has risen somewhat and tastes find but the total height of the cake is about 3cm. Is that how it is supposed to be?
Any advice appreciated.
