Forum Question about Mixing in the Thermomix (as a substitution for Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer)
I made gf bread for the first time today, used the community recipe Cyndi's OMearas gf bread with tweaks, and it was perfect
15 seconds on spead 5 to 6 to mix wet and dry really well
Hi Soozy,
The Thermomix is such a powerful machine that you definitely will not need to mix for 5-6 minutes. We recommend looking at other gluten free bread recipes which have similar ingredients and following the method. It's the easiest way to convert recipes.
With gluten free bread you are really just looking to combine all the ingredients - 30 secs to 1 minute should do the trick. Hope this helps!
Thermomix in Australia
Hello Everyone! I am new to this thread and, like many of you I'm sure, am trying to adjust traditional recipes to Thermomix friendly recipes. So I'm calling on all the experts to see if you can help!
I am looking at a gluten free bread recipe that calls for "turn [ing] the [Kitchen Aid stand mixer] up to half throttle and mix [ing] for 6-8 minutes."
How would you best adjust this recipe for mixing in the Thermomix? I tried doing this by adjusting to Speed 5 for 6 minutes, but I believe this warmed up the bread dough too much in the Thermomix. The dough was pretty warm and did not rise or bake properly.
Should I adjust the time just a few minutes? Adjust the speed down? Or both? I just want it to replicate the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer setting at half throttle for an extended period of time.
THANK YOU!!
Soozy
