Clone of Bee's Tuna Mornay

Ingredients

4 portion(s)

Mornay

  • 1 can 425gm Can of Tuna in Brine
  • Handful fresh parsley
  • 50 grams Butter
  • 50 grams cornflour
  • 500 grams Milk
  • Juice Half a Lemon
  • 1 Medium Brown Onion, halved
  • Grated Cheese (Optional)

Pasta

  • 4 portions pasta

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place the Onion and Parsley in TM bowl chop on6-7 for 5 seconds

    Add butter and saute' for 3 minutes @ 100 degrees, speed 1

    Add cornflour and milk, cook for 7 minutes at 90 degrees, speed 4.

    When this is finished cooking add the drained tuna, lemon juice, salt and black pepper to taste.

    Put TM onto Reverse and mix for 10 seconds, speed 4.Counter-clockwise operation

     

    Cook pasta as per packet instructions. Place pasta in casserole dish. Top pasta with mornay sauce and grated cheese. Place in moderate oven for 5 min or until the cheese has melted.

Tip

I serve this as a light meal at lunchtime or in the evening with toast.

    Thanks for a great recipe! I modified a little with 25g cornflour and 25g plain flour (all I had), 440g milk (last time I made mornay from a different recipe it was really runny - this one probably could have done with 460g milk), a clove of garlic and a shake of paprika in it. Next time I will mix at the end on speed 2, I like mine a little chunkier. Delish, thank you!

    A good recipe. I make it more like my Mum's by adding curry powder and paprika to taste.
