Recipe's preparation

  1. Grease a slice tin and line with baking paper, extending above the sides.

  2. Place pepitas, sunflower seeds, apricots and dates into Tmx. Chop speed 6, 7 seconds.

  3. Remove from the bowl and set aside.

  4. Melt the butter, sugar and honey together at 90 degrees, 4 minutes, speed 1.

  5. All all other ingredients including the seed/apricot/date mix and combine reverse speed 3, 30-40 seconds, scrape sides down part way through if needed.

  6. Press the mixture into the tin (use the back of the MC to press it down).

  7. Bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes - but watch them closely, they can go from cooked to over-cooked very quickly!

  8. Let cool in tin and then remove and slice into bars.

  9. These freeze really well.

I love these but I always have to change up the recipe. Halve the sugar add 40 gms macadamia nuts and 60 gms naked ginger. I didn't have rice bubbles so used up some cocoa pops. All work a treat.

These are really good. Simple to make - I cut the sugar down to 70g,but otherwise followed the recipe. I slightly overcooked them, after 20 mins I thought they needed slightly longer but with hindsight they would have been fine. Delicious and a nice light texture.

Great recipe. I reduced the sugar to 70g, however, next time I will omitt altogether. As previously suggested, I added popcorn as I didnt have rice bubbles and added extra dates as I didnt have apricots. I cooked, cooled and moved it to the fridge so it was easier to cut.

I didn’t add the pepitas or sunflower seeds, but did add some cranberries. First time I made it I had mess everywhere and it crumbled a bit, but second time I pressed it into mini muffin pans. Made 24 muesli bites which came out perfect, and no crumbly mess. Good snack or kid size too!

Oh my god these are so good. I added some choc chips as I had some spare in the fridge. I only did 30g of sugar but to be honest the next time I make them I won’t add any as they are sweet enough from the dried fruit, honey and choc chips.
Thank you for sharing the recipe. I have to ration them with my partner as he will eat them all in a day.

Quite yummy however I reduced the sugar to 25g as per comments... It's definitely sweet enough but I think it needs the sugar to stick together. Need to up the honey if you're going to reduce the sugar.

These are delicious! I didn’t have apricots so added dried blueberries & cranberries. Used half the sugar but I personally felt they are still quite sweet so will exclude sugar all together next time as there’s enough sweetness from the dried fruit. I also just refrigerated instead of baking. Great lunchbox snack 👍🏻

I love these! I added 70g "Power & Go" mix from Coles scoop & weigh section in place of the sunflower & pepitas, as I didn't have them. I also add a little dried pineapple with the apricots & dates. I freeze them in bar-portions, take them to work straight from the freezer & they are delicious.

  • This recipe is great, so much

    Submitted by AlishaG01 on 15. May 2016 - 21:36.

This recipe is great, so much that I've just about demolished the lot! I used cornflakes instead of the rice bullbes,  and excluded the sugar. I added an extra tablesoon of honey and some chia seeds. Turned out wonderful. Definitely a hit. I baked mine as per the instructions and then put it in the fridge to set. They turned out really well, not too hard and slightly chewy. I'll be making these again but migth try refrigerating only as some of the comments have suggested just to see the difference.

  • These are fabulous - I've got

    Submitted by Megsy13 on 6. September 2015 - 07:36.

These are fabulous - I've got my second batch in the oven now.  I wasn't sure which dates to use, so I pitted some Medjool dates I had on hand, and as per the comments I halved the sugar.Batch 1 As per the recipe except that I only had diced apricot, so I used 110 grams (all I had left in the bag!) and only had 70grams of rice bubbles.  They are really good!

Batch 2No more apricots or rice bubbles, so I used 100g Craisins and  a handful of currants and replaced the rice bubbles with cornflakes. Only had half the sunflower seeds,  and my son doesn't like sesame seeds, so I left them out.

This is such a versatile recipe!  Thanks for sharing tmrc_emoticons.)

**edited to add - make sure you press them down well and cool them in the tray to make sure they stay together. I just made another couple of batches and was keen to put the second lot in the tray, so flipped out the first batch while still warm without thinking.  :O. Not a good plan....

I used 95g puffed rice instead of rice bubbles, and it seemed way too much for the butter/fruit mixture... Not sure why? I halved the sugar. It's currently in the oven, can't wait to try.
