Tip

You could also easily replace some of the SR flour with some wholemeal flour. If you don't have any buttermilk, plain milk works just as nicely.  I so love the flavour of oranges and dates at the moment

Delicious. I used half freshly squeezed oj (tmx) and half kefir for the liquid. Halved the caster sugar and added about 10g chis seeds. Perfect! Thanks.

  • These turned out really well.

    Submitted by daniellehcp on 29. July 2012 - 19:39.

These turned out really well. Thermomix didn't mix it well though, so I folded it with a spoon in the bowl, remembering not to overmix. They turned out really light and a wonderful tasre. Not too sweet as well, which some date recipes can be. I'll try to upload a photo.

    Thanks!

Love these muffins.  I added a whole orange and cut down on the liquid.  Instead of buttermilk I used yogurt made in TM (wasn't very thick!).

I loved these muffins. The orange and date flavours work really well together. I didn't have buttermilk so used a little sour cream, a little plain milk and a little orange juice to make up 250ml of liquid. They turned out beautifully. I actually made 18 muffins from this recipe.
