Is it possible to make the condensed milk ahead and store in the fridge for a few weeks or can it be made ahead and put into serilised jars to keep, so you can have it on hand when a recipe calls for condensed milk?

    Please reply. AJD

  • First time making condense
    Submitted by wendyroo on 22. June 2016 - 11:14.

First time making condense milk and was just blown away how it tasted like the tin stuff. When hot it was runny but on cooling in the fridge it thickened up nicely. The only complaint would be is that it is a bit sweet and was wondering if you could use less sugar.

This recipe is sensational, it got such a workout over Xmas that I could make it without the recipe in front of me  tmrc_emoticons.| haha

I have successfully doubled it, just cooking for 8 minutes instead, and I've also been lazy and made a double batch without the butterfly - all works perfectly.  Thank you!
